DTBM Webinar

With the aim of assisting entrepreneurs and investors, Atena has developed a new strategic consulting methodology known as the Digital Twin Business Model (DTBM).

This involves creating a Digital Twin representation of a company’s business model using the innovative Finance Atena® platform, so that the entrepreneur and their management team can have access to a predictive digital representation, strategic, economic-financial, and organizational representation of the company in real time, on which to simulate the economic and financial impacts of business decisions in order to guide them toward the best possible optimization of investments, costs, revenues, tax profile, profitability, bankability, and, in general, the company’s sustainability through its optimal valuation.

This is possible thanks to a process designed to break down investments and business models into “business units, highlighting for each one investments, depreciation, operating costs and revenues, related profit margins, etc., for each one, in order to understand the importance of each within the context of the investment and/or business model being analyzed, and to identify the best strategic choices to make

DTBM webinar 2023The DTBM addresses a real market need, since today entrepreneurs and management have access to vast amounts of information, which is often disconnected from one another. At times, amid the multitude of data at their disposal, the fundamental variables of the business model and their correlations can be lost or overshadowed, resulting in the absence of a systemic model and its context. In fact, there is a lack of an environment in which to simulate the predictive economic and financial impact of a business decision and immediately see its consequences on the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and tax and financial profile—in terms of the optimal structuring of funding sources (equity, debt facilities, bond issues), bankability, sustainability, profitability, and, most importantly, the valuation of the company over the years under analysis.

The DTBM model is based on a predictive algorithmic structure, defined by its System and Context Variables, which are classified as Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary. These are linked by Assumption Rules that include validity conditions, minimum and maximum thresholds, and the corresponding correlation algorithms between them. Risk, Context, and System conditions are then represented, and for each of them, its function is depicted in terms of probability of occurrence, measure of impact (positive or negative) as a percentage or value on the correlated variables and on the relationship algorithms.

What are the principles that inspired DTBM?

  • Predictive Approach: which uses the company’s algorithmic model to simulate the economic, financial, and organizational impact of a business decision;

  • Systemic Approach: a system that takes into account all contextual and systemic variables and their relationships to provide an accurate representation of the real economy;

  • Comprehensive Approach: a system that allows you to perform analyses and calculations on a monthly basis and utilize all the economic and financial functions available in finance;

  • AI Approach: AI capabilities have been integrated into the system;

  • Objective Approach: a system that can be managed independently of its creator and delegated within the company;

  • Simplified Approach: The model does not require expertise in economics, finance, or taxation;

  • Digital Approach: Since all of the company's processes have been digitized and optimized from an organizational, economic, and financial perspective;

  • Certified Approach: Since every function defined within the model has been certified and referenced by the following entities (OIC, universities, regulations, etc.);

  • Approach Based on Different Levels of Detail: since it is possible to manage the desired level of detail and representation for each level of complexity;

  • Parametric Approach: suitable for any type of business (e.g., manufacturing, contract-based, retail, service-based, financial, etc.), allowing you to create your own functions and assumptions;

  • Continuous Approach: for ongoing use to simulate future scenarios in order to anticipate their benefits and consequences and make appropriate decisions;

  • Sustainable Approach: ensures a truly reliable—and therefore truly sustainable—predictive approach in economic, financial, and organizational terms.
